The first H&M store has finally been given a 1st opening location.
And I must admit, I am a bit sad that it isn’t Sydney, but then again, the fact that it’s not, gives the brand a bit more credibility from my perspective.
There won’t be a crazy Sydney hype as usual, this time the glory of first dibs goes to our arguably more Stylish sister – Melbourne.
I feel that it’s a great fit and the H&M Store will no doubt fit into the GPO environment and become a natural part of the hustle and bustle that goes on in the popular shopping centre.
The first Australian store will be spread across 3 storeys and the size of the store will make sure it becomes the IKEA of clothing.
This officially marks another excuse to fly to Melbourne for a shopping weekend sometime soon as I am a true fan of H&M and have been able to procure a few goodies from their stores while overseas. The fashion is not as ‘cutting edge’ as Forever 21 and Topshop but that seems to work for me.
Besides, H&M have amazing ambassadors, including Lana Del Rey, Beyonce, Gisele Bundchen and also David Beckham (?).
Don’t get too excited yet, the official opening is not on the cards till 2014. On the bright side, we don’t have that long to go. 2013 has zoomed by like you won’t believe it and I need to plan a trip to Melbourne still!
Will you be flying over to Melbourne for the opening?
